Meridian110 is inspired by the idea of translating the botanical beauty to fashion. We designed our handbags with a goal to create unexpected style by mixing colors, patterns, and texture from nature.
Every single bag is crafted by the hands of highly skilled and talented Javanese artisans using locally sourced materials. Our bags are made of carefully edited selection of remnant, 100% genuine leather (we try to use what's already available on the planet) combined with Indonesian "batik tulis", a signature textile drawn and colored by hand with the famous wax resistant technique and took up to 3 months to complete. The delicate batik cloth is then further treated to give it certain texture and sturdiness.
The one of a kind material, the cutting process, and the handmade production run result in pieces that have their own characters and individuality. No two bags are identical; supplies are limited.

Everyone involved with the bag, including you, would stitch a story to the bag. Your purchase provides support to the artisans community and our efforts to preserve batik, an "intangible cultural heritage" as named by UNESCO.

Meridian110 takes its name from the location of Java island, a natural representation for its stories and heritage. It is run by my design obsession, my brother's entrepreneurship, and our grandmother's history of making and selling batik textiles for a living.
